PROTEX WB is a high-performing treatment to protect natural stones against staining agents and rising humidity. It’s 100% water-based, and eco-friendly, and its formula is VOC FREE. Thanks to its ability to penetrate the thickness of the material it ensures a strong and long-lasting protection.
PROTEX WB doesn’t create a film on the surface and therefore it preserves the original breathability of the material.
PROTEX WB protects the stone against all humidity-related issues such as rust, yellowing, flaking, and salt efflorescences. The protection that the products provide reduces the ability of the surface to collect dirt.
PROTEX WB is particularly recommended as a pre-installation treatment on natural surfaces:
•It can be applied on the 6 sides of the tile as a pre-treatment in order to fight the absorption of rising humidity and to ensure maximum protection. In this case, the installation of slabs or tiles must be done using high-quality adhesive or mechanical fixing.
•It can also be applied on the 5 sides of the tile as a pre-treatment (top+edge) without any further processes. In this case, the installation of slabs or tiles must be done using a medium-high-quality adhesive.
•it can also be applied on the 5 sides of the tile (top+edge) while applying a different treatment on the bottom. in this case, the slabs or tiles can be installed with a medium-low quality adhesive or simple cement-mortar mix.
•It can be applied to protect natural stones that have already been laid against staining agents and rising humidity. When the product is applied after the installation, the degree of water-proof protection depends on the moisture that has been inside the material since the laying process.
To get the highest degree of achievable protection against rising humidity is, therefore, necessary to remove all the yellowing from the surface and it’s also important to make sure that the surface being treated is as dry as possible. This will allow the product to penetrate correctly. In any case, we always recommend pre-treating natural stone to efficiently protect it.
